The Digitised Trunk Communications System (D-TCS) is a high bandwidth data network that links together various battlefield communications systems and technologies, to enhance the command and control of integrated operations. Compared to the TCS, which was used by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in the early 1990s, the digitisation and high bandwidth of the D-TCS allows for real-time transmission of voice and data over vast distances. This connects fighting forces in the battlefield to the command headquarters, facilitating the exchange of critical information and establishment of a common operating picture. The D-TCS can be used in both conventional operations as well as training exercises.
